Volunteers lead small group arts projects or sports game (e.g., kickball, flag football, double dutch, step class). Volunteers must have experience working with kids. This activity requires 1-3 hours and takes place at all school sites from 3:00-6:00 PM on Fridays.

Volunteers will mentor and support students during mandatory homework hour. We ask that you commit to a minimum of 1 hour per week for at least 1 month. Homework times vary from site to site:
On a mutually agreed upon date, volunteers will visit programming to discuss their careers. We encourage volunteers to share their path to success, stressing the importance of doing well in school and staying out of trouble. After the introduction, volunteers will participate in a Q&A with students. Career Panels work best with small groups, so we encourage volunteers to bring their colleagues or friends from different business sectors.
Whenever possible, ASAS Philadelphia brings students to new settings, so students can make concrete connections between what they’re doing at ASAS and the “real-world.” Volunteers can offer to host students at their workplace. Typically, students are provided with a tour of the space, introductions to multiple employees at different levels within the company, and a Q&A is held for students to ask questions about the particular field of work. Depending on distance, we may require your workplace to sponsor transportation for students.
Throughout the year, ASAS Philadelphia hosts a variety of special fundraising events to raise money for our program. Events may vary from more formal events like our annual gala, sports tournaments, and everything in between. No matter how big in size, these events require a lot of manpower, and we’d love your support! If you’d like to be added to our event volunteer list, please select “fundraising events” in the form below.
If you’d like to volunteer, please fill out the form below and we will respond to your inquiry within one week.
*Note: You must have your FBI and Child Abuse background checks completed before volunteering with students.
