New York Life Foundation:

The New York Life Foundation was the first major investor in ASAS’ high school success work, We Are Ready, a middle to high school transition program. With the Foundation’s support, We Are Ready has quadrupled the number of youth served since 2010 and has set thousands of students on the path to high school, college and career success. Beginning in 2014, ASAS and New York Life have significantly expanded our work together. With the support of the New York Life foundation, ASAS will expand to six new cities over three years. Through this campaign—the largest expansion project in ASAS’ history—New York Life will help ensure thousands more at-risk middle school students receive the support and resources they need to realize their potential. 21st Century Grant:

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) initiative is a key component of the No Child Left Behind Act. The 21st CCLC is a major funder of ASAS Philadelphia, providing opportunities for academic enrichment, including providing tutorial services to help students, particularly to students who attend low-performing schools, to meet state and local student academic achievement standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and mathematics. Also enabling ASAS Philadelphia to offer students a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities, such as youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, counseling programs, art, music, and recreation programs, technology education programs and character education programs, that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students. Offer families of students served by community learning centers opportunities for literacy and related educational development.

The Mazda Foundation is dedicated to building a better tomorrow through support of meaningful programs that make a difference. Their generous support of the Life Service Action initiative enabled ASAS to host nearly 20 students at the National Youth Advisory Board Summit in Washington D.C. to participate in advocacy, leadership, and community service training. The summit equipped the Youth Advisory Board members to make a positive difference this school year, in particular by leading service projects with their peers aimed at reducing distracted driving.
