Lisa Evans Lewis

Federal Public Defender

Lisa Evans Lewis is an Attorney and Training Supervisor with the Camden, New
Jersey Office of the Federal Public Defender where she represents individuals
charged with federal criminal offenses. In her practice, Ms. Lewis handles
complex federal criminal matters at trial in the U.S. District Court as well as
appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court.
As a Training Supervisor, Ms. Lewis conducts training for the New Jersey Federal
Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel and the Federal Public Defender Office. Prior to
her employment as an Assistant Federal Public Defender, Ms. Lewis was in private
practice, taught at local colleges and worked as a trial attorney with the Defender
Association of Philadelphia. Ms. Lewis is a 1992 graduate of Duke University
School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from
Adelphi University. Ms. Lewis is currently pursuing Certificates in Nonprofit
Administration and Nonprofit Board Governance at the University of
Pennsylvania, Fels Institute of Government. Ms. Lewis is a member of the New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, and District of Columbia Bars. Ms. Lewis has served as a
member of the Camden County Bar Association’s Board of Trustees, President of
the National Bar Association, Women Lawyers Division, Philadelphia Chapter,
and lectures at various schools and organizations throughout Pennsylvania and
New Jersey.
