After-School All-Stars Announces First Annual STEM Innovators Fair To Showcase Middle School Students’ Projects For Philadelphia Tech Community

Philadelphia, PA (March 31, 2017) – After-School All-Stars Philadelphia and Camden, with generous support from Baer Crossey McDemus, will host the first annual Innovators Fair at the Comcast Center on Friday, March 31st. Students from Vare-Washington School in South Philadelphia, William D. Kelley School in North Philadelphia and Conwell Middle Magnet School in Kensington will present science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) projects to representatives from across Philadelphia’s technology companies, who will be on hand to speak with the students about their projects and careers in the sciences and technology.

“Too many students in Philadelphia, especially those in low-income communities, lack access to educational opportunities in the STEM disciplines,” said Reynelle Staley, Executive Director, After-School All-Stars Philadelphia and Camden. “The Innovators Fair is a great opportunity for the students to receive positive reinforcement about the time they are committing to receive additional education in the STEM disciplines during the after-school hours, and to connect with members of the Philadelphia technology business community.” Staley continued, “We are thrilled at the positive response and support the Innovators Fair has received from Philadelphia’s tech community, and are grateful to those who are donating their time to help make careers in science and technology more accessible to our students.”

Baer Crossey McDemus LLC, a Philadelphia-based law firm that has extensive experience advising Philadelphia’s tech community, is partnering with After-School All-Stars as the presenting sponsor of the Innovators Fair. “After-School All-Stars and Baer Crossey McDemus both are committed to positively impacting our community, and this partnership is part of our commitment to developing the tech community in Philadelphia,” said Andy Baer, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Baer Crossey McDemus. “We are excited to help highlight the important work being done by After-School All-Stars in Philadelphia to introduce local students to STEM education and the Philadelphia tech community.”

The Innovators Fair begins at 2:30 pm on March 31st, 2017, at CIMCity at the Comcast Center, 1701 JFK Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Media and guests are required to RSVP with Gabby Palumbo at or (267) 519-5337
